Engaged Learning

At Providence College, students have access to a wide array of engaged learning opportunities that allow them to put the knowledge learned in the classroom into action in the real world — a particularly valuable experience for those majoring in social science.

These opportunities include internships at companies such as

  • Fidelity Investments,
  • Liberty Mutual Insurance,
  • IGT, and
  • United Methodist Elder Care

In addition, social science majors have studied abroad in such countries as

  • Argentina,
  • Australia,
  • China,
  • England,
  • Italy, and
  • Spain

Other engaged learning opportunities include research, service learning, and social justice advocacy, to name a few.
